TOP GEAR LIVE - WORLD TOUR

BACKGROUND

For the first time in Australia, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond presented Top Gear Live, the most spectacular LIVE motoring theatre show in the universe from February 5th – 8th at the Acer Arena.

Top Gear Live features breath-taking stunts, amazing special effects and blockbusting driving sequences with some of the world’s best precision drivers. The experience was one that car enthusiasts would not forget.

Top Gear Live combines an action-packed 75 minute live version of the internationally acclaimed and multi award-winning BBC TV series Top Gear.

 

CHALLENGE

Looking to screen both the inside and outside of the ACER arena’s security fencing, one of Australia’s largest exhibition hire companies came to Scaffad Australia hoping to source a promotional solution that would afford maximum exposure for the renowned ‘Top Gear’ brand.

As an Australian first, the ‘Top Gear Live’ show was set to attract motoring enthusiasts from across the country. Crowd management, security and event identification/ branding, would play a huge role in the overall consumer experience.

 

STRATEGY

Working to extremely tight deadlines, Scaffad Australia suggested a premium crest mesh material, capable of producing a high resolution digital print, to showcase the ‘Top Gear Live’ logo and identity.

Scaffad tailored both internal and external banners/ artworks to fit individual fence panels, ensuring a flawless final facade. The ‘Top Gear Live’ venue banners not only helped shape the overall user experience, by creating a unique environment bespoke to the ‘Top Gear’ theme, but also assisted security as a privacy screen surrounding the compound, shielding the outside world from what lay within.

Drawing on experience and expertise gained from construction fence wraps, Scaffad representatives also attended the install to counsel the client, regarding optimal installation techniques and systems.

 

RESULTS

Event organisers gained a product that went above and beyond their expectations. The fence wrap helped to both screen the perimeter fence, as well as brand the event compound with ‘Top Gear Live’ theming and sponsor logos (Shell V-Power).

The quality of the product and design diversity allowed the banners to be re-installed at numerous locations, across Australia and New Zealand, lending themselves to both crowd management/ direction as well as event theming.

The project was completed on time, despite the tight turn-around, boasting flaweless results, whilst maintaining the highest level of customer service every step of the way.
